Ski

From absolute beginner to accomplished off-piste, there is something for everyone to enjoy.  Never a problem with lack of snow with the snow sure, high altitude resorts of Val d’Isere and Tignes on our doorstep.
We are really spoilt for choice with our superb location and 6 world class resorts at our fingertips.

The Resorts

Sainte Foy

Just 10 minutes drive from the chalet, Ste Foy has been described as “the best kept secret in the Alps”.  Quiet and unspoilt with beautifully groomed and sunny tree lined pistes and typical rustic Savoyard restaurants on and off the mountain, it is a wonderful resort for families (children under 7 ski free), but also has fantastic off-piste potential with some of the routes coming back to the door of the chalet.

Val d'Isere / Tignes

The linked area of Val d’Isere and Tignes (Espace Killy) with over 300km of snowsure piste skiing is just 20 minutes drive from the chalet and can be accessed via Tignes Les Brevieres or Val d’Isere itself.  It needs no introduction and has something to suit everyone.  Cruisy blues, challenging off-piste, world class snow parks.
Not forgetting the summer skiing too on the Tignes glacier.
Plenty of posing and people watching in the many restaurants and bars and excellent shops and nightlife.

Les Arcs / La Plagne

We are just 3km from the ski lift at Villaroger which links into the Paradiski system (Les Arcs/La Plagne) offering hundreds of miles of trails and downhill pistes to explore and terrains to suit all abilities.

La Rosiere / La Thuile

La Rosiere is a great choice on a sunny day and is very popular for families.  Sharing the San Bernardo ski area with La Thuile, La Rosiere offers 2 massive snow bowls to ski – one in France, one in Italy.
Very popular with our guests who want to pop over for a pizza or pasta lunch and the lifts are just 10 minutes from the chalet.

Guiding and Instruction

Whether you are looking for a group lesson, a heli-skiing experience or a private mountain guide, we can put you in touch with the right people
When booking group lessons we usually recommend Sainte Foy and one of the following schools but there are also many more to choose from:
We have several highly qualified local friends we recommend for 1:1 private instruction and guiding so let us know what you’re looking for and we’ll put you in touch.
For heli-skiing or other more adventurous days, why not see what our neighbours at Tarentaise Tours have to offer:
If booking any of the above direct, please mention you are staying at Chalet Pecchio.
Of course its not all about the skiing and snowboarding.  There are lots of activities available for non-skiers as well – snow shoeing, husky riding, ice skating, bowling, spa day, to name just a few.

Ski Equipment Hire

We usually recommend:
skiset sainte foy (Sports 1) in Sainte Foy or
http://www.olympicsports.fr in Les Eucherts, La Rosiere
It is often cheaper to rent in advance online for collection on arrival.
We have also recently started using a delivery service to the chalet if you prefer that option

Lift Passes

There are different options for lift passes, depending where you plan to ski.  A 6 day Ste Foy pass offers great value for money and also offers you discounted rates to ski at other local resorts during your stay.
